EKOR coating. EKOR Foam continues to
be the only product of its kind.

This page has not been updated much since in the last 3 to 4 years because not much has occurred, however there are some developments which are of interest. Updated 12/23/04

Now that the environmental lawsuits have run their course, nuclear storage in the mountain complex out west may now become a reality which will require the use of EKOR Foam.

Eurotech Ltd. has gone through a parade of CEO's.

They never found a home on the Nasdaq and are currently on the pink sheets, partly, I suspect to avoid the costly process of filing financials. I've heard that some major international players have also done this, most notable is the Swiss giant Nestles.

Eurotech has taken major positions in two other entities and licensed some products to each.
  • Markland Technologies, Inc. (Markland) is an integrated homeland security and defense company. The Company has four business segments, including Sensor systems for military and intelligence applications, Chemical detectors, Border security systems and Advanced technologies. The Company is focused on providing certain emerging technology services to address the United States' need to protect borders, infrastructure assets and personnel. The Company also provides to the Department of Homeland Security (Homeland Security); products, services and emerging technologies to protect its country's borders, infrastructure assets and personnel. On June 29, 2004, the Company acquired all of the outstanding stock of E-OIR Technologies, Inc. (EOIR), EOIR is a provider of technology and services to the United States Army Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate, as well as other United States Department of Defense (DOD) and Intelligence Agencies. These guys are trading around 80¢ (only because of reverse split that took them out of the 2¢ range.) They got the "advanced Core" technology which detects unique "sound signatures" of many types of substances -- allowing the passive examination of luggage, shipping containers etc. It reportedly can discern plastic and other exposives, illegal drugs and even illegal aliens stowed away inside of vehicles and containers. The US Air Force was reported to be in a "3rd stage" testing agreement with Markland on development. If this should work like they hope, one could screen every container as it was being moved around in a shipping port or even every truck as it passes on an Interstate on-ramp.
  • Global Matrechs, Inc., formerly HomeCom Communications, Inc., was previously engaged in the development and marketing of specialized software applications, products and services that enabled financial institutions and their customers to use the Internet and intranets/extranets to obtain and communicate important business information, conduct commercial transactions and improve business productivity. In October 1999, the Company sold its security consulting and integration services operations and entered into a joint marketing program with the acquirer. During the year ended December 31, 2001, it sold its remaining software applications businesses. On May 22, 2003, the Company completed the transaction with Eurotech, Ltd., pursuant to which it licenses the EKOR, HNIPU, EMR/AC, Rad-X, Firesil, liquid ebonite material (LEM) and rapidly biodegradable hydrophobic material (RBHM) technologies from Eurotech.
It is rumored that Global Matrechs will begin production of HNIPU in Estonia sometime in the near future.

WASHINGTON, DC – March 28, 2000 – EUROTECH Ltd., Washington, DC and The Shelter Project, Chernobyl , Ukraine, jointly announced the successful completion of the initial application of Eurotech’s EKOR radiation-resistant material at Chernobyl. The application was performed under the Eurotech - Shelter joint agreement to move EKOR from the R&D stage into the real world applications. Under this agreement, the Shelter has selected the most critical pile of the molten radioactive fuel from the failed reactor to be covered with EKOR to prevent dusting and leaching into the environment. Chernobyl Unit 4 was the site of the world’s worst nuclear accident in 1986.
This from the SEC 10-K filing of 03/31/00 -
In addition, we are also in the process of identifying potential licensees of the EKOR technology and have commenced initial licensing discussions with a Japanese corporation.

NACExpo/2000
Orlando, Florida - March 29, 2000
I went to the NACExpo 2000 Corrision and Exhibition at the Orange County Convention center.
Eurotech did indeed have a booth (#2931), and while I was there, Eurotech was represented by Prof. Figovsky, Alex Trossman and board member, Dr. Randolph Graves.

Ten technologies (products) were promoted by the use of printed materials and samples. I brought back literature on each as well as a sample of Sorbtech. RubCon samples were also on display.

I spoke briefly with Dr. Graves and came away with the feeling that management is very excited about EKOR and that they believe that EKOR is their first and best chance at success. When asked about the flame retardant EKOR as a replacement for the toxic when burned insulation and cushions in commercial airplanes, I was told that this was a back burner item but they had someone here in the US that was interested in a license for the product with the aviation industry in mind.
We also spoke of FIRESIL, the product that fireproofs wood, and although it would not produce as much revenue as EKOR, Dr. Graves certainly felt that this was a superior product.

March 22, 2000 WASHINGTON, DC. EUROTECH Ltd. (OTC: BB:EURO) filed an application with the Nasdaq National Market for Public Securities today seeking a listing with the exchange.

During the "Brokers Call" on March 27, it was stated that Eurotech felt that the Nasdaq listing would become operational on April 24th. Unfortunately, Eurotech's history with the projections of dates has been wrong more times than right. My best guess is add at least a month or more to that date. I hope my projection proves incorrect, but the track records speaks for itself.
